Synthyard Zone

"It's okay."

submission: Synthyard Zone
date: February 20, 2008

I'm trying to remember what Sonic game this is from. Anyways, as for the song overall, it's not too bad. On some spots it just sounds like there's to much synth to it. It's almost too loud and a little bit overbearing especially with that bass playing with it at the same time. But other than that, it sounds like it turned out okay.

Author's Response:

Sonic 1, Spring Yard Zone.

I was considering getting rid of the bass in the final stages, but ultimately decided against it. It seemed like the song was lacking without it. However, I think i'll take a look again to see if it does sound a bit better without it.

Thanks for your input, by the way.

"Crazy Good!"

This was an excellent audio track. I like the build up right from the beginning. I loved how the bass sounded. Bringing it in the way you did added a lot to it. The diversity of it was great. It didn't sound like there was too much repitition in the sounds. If there was, it was placed well throughout this track. Nice job.

"Very Good!"

I like how it started out slow and then built up. I usually like that with most audio here on Hewgrounds. When it eventually came to the hip-hop beat, I started loving it even more. It did sound like a pretty emotional piece, and I do see where you say it kind of has Nintendo sounds to it. What particularly came to mind with me was the Nightmare on Elm Street video game.

Great stuff.

Author's Response:

Thanks mate, ahh, you've made me very happy pointing out the build-up, I was a bit more careful with my track development this time, so thanks for noticing!
Ahh, you heard the Nintendo sounds? Cool! Nightmare on Elm Street, hmm..well, I suppose it is 'soothingly eerie' in some ways, thanks for dropping by.
I must stop by your page soon, thanks for the review!

Now I'm not usually a big fan of techno, but that was pretty cool to listen to. I like how you started out slowly at the beginning and then just built up throughout the entire clip. What really impressed me the most was the beat. That's what sounded the best to me. Nice work.

Author's Response:

cool thnx. im glad u liked the beat i worked on that bit mostly.

311 Amber

"Not Bad at All."

submission: 311 Amber
date: May 12, 2006

311's one of my favorite bands, so I'll definitely review it. You can definitely tell that it is the song "Amber" without even saying it in the title. It seemed a little rough on some parts of it, like you had a little baffle in the mind on what note to play. However, in saying all this, I think you did a decent job in playing the intro of the song. Keep working on it, though. Maybe you can submit the whole song sometime. :)

Cheers to attempting 311.

Author's Response:

AH! Thank you lol. Yes 311 is one of my favorite bands too. I really wanted to play the whole song, but that would require other parts for the song to be complete. But I couldnt do that... I dont have the software for it. Lol Thanks for the review.

Even with an oldskool Fruity Loops program, it sounds awesome. That's some high quality Drum N' Bass shit right there, man. I love it. :)

SMP Triphop Music for SHROOMS

"Awesome stuff."

date: June 21, 2005

I liked it a lot. The heavy bass tones really gave it that trip hop feel. I'd like to hear more stuff like this. I really enjoy listening to it a lot.

Keep up the great (and humorous) work with all your future audio projects.

Plaid Tees

"Not exactly bad."

submission: Plaid Tees

It kind of started off pretty slow for me. It seemed like your lyrics were off with the beat behind you, too. The lyrics weren't half-bad though, so I give you some credit for that.

I loved that video game. It brings back memories, as well as your remix to the music. It had all the aspects that an audio track should have. Overall, it was an awesome remix.
